As huge fans of Tove Lo’s music, we were
beyond thrilled fucking ECSTATIC to hear her song Habits being sampled in Hippie Sabotage's latest masterpiece, Stay High (free download above). Tove Lo’s voice and lyrics are what give this track its raw and emotional energy, but it’s Hippie Sabotage’s downtempo and chillasfuck production that instantly qualified it as one of our favorite tracks of the year.
Check out the original Habits by Tove Lo below:
As we await the release of Los Angeles Police Department's forthcoming debut record, Ryan Pollie went ahead and gifted us with the second single, Enough is Enough. At only 1 minute and 38 seconds, the song is half the length of LAPD’s first single, The Only One – but don’t let that fool you. The groovy and melodic tune, reminiscent of 60s garage and psych rock, takes you through an emotional crescendo that will have you hitting that
bong replay button indefinitely. As if we needed more reason to anticipate the debut. Thanks for the tease, Ryan.
Bridges is the dreamy debut single from New Zealanders Georgia and Caleb Nott, aka BROODS. If you’re a fan of synth pop/electro-R&B, or just looking for another breakup song to add to your Fall playlist, you’ll find that this brother-sister duo do not disappoint. It’s no wonder that fellow Kiwi, and worldwide chart-topper, Lorde tweeted that this song is “so so lovely!!!”
We personally prefer the way 32ft/second described it: “‘Bridges’ is an absolute smoker, twisting and smoldering on the title lyric, a meditation on self-destruction, ‘We’re burning all the bridges now’. Like Imogen Heap lost in a London Grammar arrangement, it’s a slow dance for an age without slow dancing, late-night music for kids who never go to sleep.”
The music video for Lies, our 2nd favorite Chvrches song, has finally dropped (Recover has been on loop since the Summer and continues to take up the number one spot despite all efforts to move on). Check out the Sing J. Lee directed visual above, which takes you through an awesomely nightmarish dystopia, proving that this electro-pop trio from Glasgow will never cease to amaze our eyes + ears.

Valerie Teicher, aka Tei Shi, gives us another slice of her Saudade EP (self releasing on November 12) with the slinky track, Nevermind The End.
Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, released the second single off his upcoming album Cupid Deluxe, out November 12 on Domino. Featuring vocals from Samantha Urbani, You’re Not Good Enough gives us that 80s synth+guitar goodness that is definitely good enough to make us feel like Cupid Deluxe will be his best yet.
Eerie, but never “spooky.” Turn off the lights and enjoy.
This Postiljonen remix of the Keep Shelly in Athens single, Oostende, might make you take off your clothes and dance in a meadow with 15 strangers at dawn but it will be totally worth it.
